ACME is a fitting name for these professionals! They truly are the pinnacle of design, craftsmanship and service. Tom's background in industrial design shows through in his creativity, style and attention to detail. Many of my friends have gotten their vans from the Benders and all of whom are extremely happy with their experience. ACME built my van a few years ago and it has brought my family no end of fun and adventure. My rig has developed a characteristic (pleasant) aroma. We lucked into finding a stock Sprinter at a local dealer, and got in touch with ACME after a friend's enthusiastic recommendation. We sat down with Thomas, told him what our baseline requirements were, hammered out a design, chose colors and finishes, and what we wanted to do with the finished vehicle. He got right back to us with a reasonable bid and went straight to work. The entire project was done on budget and on time. What I didn't fully expect was the impeccable quality of the work that he and his crew did, and the incredible attention to detail. He even designed and installed custom made fishing rod holders. You can tell that Thomas has a background in industrial design, because the ideas he executes are functional, practical, and aesthetically appealing. Everything works, and it all looks good. In addition, he personally backs up his work the way any good craftsman would - with an unimpeachable personal commitment and quick response to any questions or concerns. We felt really lucky to get a spot in his schedule, and knowing what I know now, I wouldn't start a project like this if ACME couldn't do it.

Tom and his team at ACME are incredible. They've now built out two vans for me and each experience has exceeded expectations both in terms of the end product and the experience of working with them. They are fair, professional, innovative, consistent, and genuinely interested in what you want. I have friends who have had van build outs at other places, and suffice it to say that their experiences have not been the same...whereas when I needed a second van build out I didn't even consider going anywhere else but ACME based on my first experience. I cannot say enough positive things about Tom and the team at ACME Overland. I am a harsh critic and, as a rule, rarely leave reviews. This is because the majority of experiences getting services, in almost any sector, range from mediocre to dismal. ACME overland has been nothing short of STELLAR from start to finish. Tom helped us source a Sprinter, at a time when they were hard to find. We delivered an empty box of a van and got back a beautiful, completely bespoke adventure machine. Tom gave us so much freedom in helping design the layout and choosing the materials. Every detail was thought out, planned, and executed with the utmost care and quality. The custom pull-out storage drawer for the pro-grade dual boiler espresso machine is a thing of beauty and probably best represents how the ACME team truly helps build you a custom dream van. But the build is really just the beginning. When we have had trouble with anything at all, Tom has been exceptionally responsive and has gone to great lengths to trouble shoot and fix every issue we have had. And that’s the best part and why you should look no further if you’re searching for a builder. The level of professionalism and service at ACME is, without a doubt, the BEST customer service experience I have had in ANY sector/industry, EVER. Do yourself a favor and go meet Tom and team. You will not regret it.

(As an aside, I did a pretty deep dive into builder options both locally in SLC Utah and regionally. I am convinced I made the right choice as we had so many custom things we needed and many builders aren’t willing to change their stock layouts much and will charge a lot if they do. Working with Tom and his family was (and continues to be) a dream come true. My wife and I had been on the lookout for a van to fit our specs for some time, and when we came across ACME, we knew we were in the right place. We took careful consideration when coming to this decision, and the combination of design, customization, professionalism, attention to detail--there's not a box unchecked with ACME. And even after delivery (which was precisely on time), Tom, his brother, father, and the rest of the crew were (have been, and are) there to answer anything that comes up--and take care of it if you can't take care of it yourself. This is one of those reviews where I could go on and on about what happens at ACME, our van and how much we love it, and the kind of service and experience you'll have with them. It's that good. THE BEST!! Look no further - these guys are at the top of their game. I brought my van up from California to have Tom and the whole Bender family/crew perform a complete makeover into a family surf/ski/camping machine.
