Ceres City Finance Department

Came in several times yesturday and tried to put my home water and utilities in my names after having to evict a renter. What a hassle it is to prove you own the home so you can put a utility in your name. Had to give them two different tax papers, the deed. What a hassle. Then finally got my water in my name at 140 after starting this process first thing in the AM. And nothing can be done over the phone. Well today... the city worker came to my house and turned my water OFF, and gave me a $100 fine for "tampering" with the water. For 1 i never did anything to the valve or turned it on/off at the meter. And when i called the lady on the phone including the supervisor who was not helpful said they show i used water at 2pm. When the water was in my name at 140, and they show use at 2. I told them it was never "off" and they agree i was already paying for the water at the point it was being used, so they are charging me $100 for using the water im paying for. Said the workers never came and turned it back on so i wasnt aloud to use it. IT WAS ALREADY ON! So i had to pay $100 fine just for them to turn my water on AGAIN after i just put it in my name yesturday. What a pain in the ass city of ceres utilities are and all the office staff who are clueless and dont even make any sense with why im being fined.....

Changed Hours then what is stated on google which led me to not be able to pay my bill, After I left work early and rushed over to pay my bill and find out that they are closed. Very frustrating and not professional

The representative named Angela is the most miserable woman I have ever dealt with. Alwaya rude , arrogant and sarcastic with customers . I tried to complain about her to the supervisor Andrea , but she must be friends with her , because she defended her even as Angela tried to keep arguing with me from her desk while I made my payment ...all the other girls there are as sweet as can be ...just don't talk to Angela and you will be fine

I couldn’t speak more TERRIBLY about the PLANNING DIVISION !! 🤩ABSOLUTELY AWFUL customer service needs a major step up. It’s impossible to get a permit from them. They need to hire new people with better experience. Not sure how anyone deals with them. Would give ZERO stars if possible a one star rating is too kind for them 💖💖

Lady was very rude went in to ask for some information and she looked bothered that I showed up and just said anything. Good Luck to anyone trying to get help from the city of Ceres.

The woman that works in this office is the most rude and nasty person. Not sure what her problem is. She should be ashamed of herself.

Best help I could possibly get. Very helpful and quick with what they do. Thank you.
