Everyone is friendly here HOWEVER- the drivers license process is ridiculous. The examiner is only there on Tuesdays and you have to be there at 7am ( this arrival time isn’t stated anywhere) to get on a list. I showed up at 8am and was told there were no more morning openings (even though there are “No appointments”). I had to come back at 12:00pm when I was told I could put my name on the list for the afternoon. It was 12:30 before I got on the list and was told to come back at 1:30. There is no reason people shouldn’t be able to make an appointment online in advance. Thankfully, I didn’t have much to do today but it was still frustrating to have to stay in town all day and come and go so often. I’m writing this review for those who have to take off work and their schedules aren’t as flexible. You are probably better off driving to Jacksonville or Fort Payne. I am hoping that this will stir up some change in the way these issues are handled. I would suggest having a full time examiner or at the very least being able to schedule an appointment online ahead of time.

You all were right!! I left four messages over two days & no return call as promised on their message! Finally went in today...assistance not much better than no return call! Didn’t look as though the five employees were being over worked! No one in line (2 did come on after me) no phones ringing (are they on silent maybe) so can’t imagine why they can’t return one of my 4 left messages. ..and had to ask for the supervisor before getting someone willing to help me!! No such thing as a public servant anymore these days.?

The lady that assisted me was great. However I was making comment (just a comment I was not being rude)about the difficulty that Alabama puts you through to get tags changed from other states. The office manager Tabitha Davis butted into our conversation with a rude and threatening comment. Then when I called her out on her comment. She tried to say it wasn't a threat, when the other people in the room heard what she said.

I have the sense of 5 Karen's sitting around laughing at the phone. You know the Karens... fat, frosted hair, 30 year post cheerleaders that still think they're fine, never made it out of the small town. Their only recourse for their failed life is to not answer the phone for the rest of us that need these civil "servants" to do their predetermined, post cheerleader existence.
Do your job and answer the phone.... you'd think with all the bad reviews someone in the state would do something.

These people do a great job in my opinion with the limited amount of personal they have. Remember there are thousands of people in this county and they all are expecting to come first. Patience is key.
