Our mom, Pat, has been a resident at Fair Oaks for over six years now. She has needed care from both Memory Care and Assisted Living. From the very beginning we have been impressed with the care she has received. The staff at Fair Oaks have been accommodating of her dietary needs and personal preferences as she has gotten older. I am grateful for their flexibility, patience and care. I have toured many other facilities, some even recently, because my biggest wish is to do right by her. But perhaps the best recommendation comes from my mom herself:
She has repeatedly told me,
"Thank you for finding this place for me, you couldn't have done any better."
The sweetest words I'll ever hear as a daughter caring for her elderly mother. Now if that isn't a recommendation, then I don't know what is.

My mother has lived here since January 2023. I have had a good experience managing my mom's care with Parveen and Angie (the care directors). My mother has been difficult at times, but they have worked with me to accommodate her. When I visit it is clean and cheerful, they are always working to keep the residents in good spirits, they have a nice outdoor courtyard. I am so happy I found this FOE!

Fair Oaks Estates neglected and mismanaged my brother’s care to the point of endangering his life. This is documented in an investigation by the State of California Community Care Licensing. They have been cited multiple times (33 as of today.). The owner replied to another reviewer on here that they haven’t been cited in annual inspections by the state. He neglects to share that they have 33 citations in other inspections/investigations in response to complaints filed.

The facility looks nice but the quality of care is severely deficient. I visited 2-3 times per week, addressed issues with multiple levels of management. They failed to give him his Lasix (essential medication) for 7 weeks! They failed to get him medical attention when staff reported problems with his catheter and that he was showing signs of infection. They didn’t notify family that he was sick. Thank God he went to a day program that actually cared about him.
That day program called me immediately upon his arrival to report he was sick. I took him to ER where he was diagnosed with sepsis, UTI, and kidney failure.
Our family seriously regrets placing him at Fair Oaks Estates!

It’s been a year since my dad has moved into Fair Oaks Estates and we could t be more thrilled. My dad had a major stroke which left him mentally and physically disabled and could not be left alone. We love the facility, residents, and staff. It’s a beautiful place and close to my house as well. It’s very clean, music playing in hallways, and a beautiful courtyard with a lot of flowers. Did I mention the amazing staff? Thank you and your amazing staff for everything that you have done for our family. You have turned a difficult, stressful, traumatic, and depressing situation into a pleasant and calming one.

Troop 2.

Volunteering at an assisted living community as a Girl Scout troop was an incredible experience that brought immense joy and fulfillment to our troop and the residents we visited. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and gratitude from the staff and residents, who were thrilled to have us there for the afternoon.

As we walked through the halls of the community, we were met with smiling faces and the excitement of residents eager to share their stories and time with us. We shared laughter, stories and even played games with many of the residents.

During our visit, the joy that we brought to the residents was visible in their eyes and the expressions on their faces. They were so grateful for our visit and the connection we provided with the outside community. It was truly heartwarming to see how much impact our visit had on them.

As a Girl Scout troop, we learned so much from the experience and would highly recommend it to other troops looking for a meaningful way to give back to their community. The staff and residents were incredibly kind and welcoming, and we were able to share in the joy of making connections and building relationships with the residents.

Overall, our experience volunteering at this assisted living community will always hold a special place in our hearts and we would love to return again for our 3rd visit, no that covid restrictions have been lifted. Fair Oaks Estates is our troops favorite facility so far.

My Uncle, BUBBY, moved here 6 months ago, and he loves it! The staff is eager to help with anything He needs. Most of the employees, seem to actual thrive in what must be a terribly demanding job, to constantly be caring and catering to the particular needs of the demanding residence. I suppose these are not the greatest paying jobs, but Fair Oaks Estates seem to have the ideal staff with great perspectives and genuine care. Most of the tenants are friendly and welcoming to him as well as his guests.

He recently discovered a Craze from 15 years ago, called Sudoko, that has has filled his time with challenging number puzzles, and his new friends oddly idolize him, for his new found gift. There are lots of activities to keep him involved and active, or if prefers, no pressure to join in the fun. The rooms have great views of the outdoors, the common spaces are beautifully appointed just like a welcoming grand home would be, and security measurements helps all feel safe. A lot more could be said about how wonderful this place is, but just knowing he is there makes me want to live a lot longer to enjoy it someday myself! Thank you for creating a real home for "Bubby", and ALL OF IT

The leadership is terrible from the owner to his underlings. The activity director isn't a person to be trusted. If your people live here then move them out if your considering moving in stay away.

Mom had been in a Nursing Home in Paradise CA after having a heart attack in July. With dementia present, we had been looking for an Assisted Living residence for her- one that had Memory Care on site in case it was eventually needed. When the Nursing Home surprised us with a discharge only a week away, Mom began exhibiting strange behavior, which I attributed to stress over not having a place to go. So, we changed our philosophy from checking out every place we could find to finding one as soon as possible near family in Citrus Heights. The next day my cousin came here and said they filled the requirements we had and the price was right. When I got back in town, I stopped in and put down the deposit. At this point, just having a place for Mom was more important than doing an extreme amount of homework.
Mom's mental condition worsened here, through no fault of anyone. From forgetting that she was given meds to coming up with stories of things being stolen (Things we never had in the first place), Mom was a handful. But, Kurt, Rhonda, Parveen, Bea and the entire staff were so very kind and helped to try and ease any anxieties Mom had. Mom passed away yesterday from an Aortic Aneurysm (A condition unbeknownst to us, she apparently had for awhile), exactly one month to the day that she first entered Fair Oaks Estates.
Even if we had finished with our exhaustive research (And especially considering we toured and made a decision here in one day), we could not have asked for a better place for Mom to have spent her last month. She was 81, a former Head Nurse, and as independent as you can be, struggling to find herself in this new life where the old TV remote that she had for years was a struggle to comprehend. I want to thank the staff- and the Med Tech's whom she was the most hardest on- for all of their kindness and attention. From the bottom of my heart, they were the absolute best and I could not have been happier with our decision.
I love you, Mom. I miss you terribly. RIP
