This is one of my favorite schools for the Chico area. The whole place is really friendly and social. They will definitely make you feel welcome, and try to work with you for your children. It's really small, so the classes are set up a bit different, but the kids are pretty accepting. They will take kids from Chico and they provide a free bus up and down. ❤️

It is a great school. Students are nice, Teachers are wonderful, All the staff are great, especially at doing their job, The education quality is faboulous, the food is, well, it's ok. And if you live in Chico the FREE bus service provides wonderful service and your student well have a nice time riding the bus provided with wonderful bus drivers. Everything just about and at the school is great, as they also provide plenty of educational field trips and provide very wonderful is perfect. It is a wonderful school ,and if you think that this is the school you want to send your child to, then go right on ahead and do it. I strongly support you all the way. And that is all I have to say.

We are neighbors of the Charter School and have always had fantastic communication. I have had the occasional opportunity to visit the school while in session, and each time I find it heartening to hear bits of conversation between staff, teachers and students. If you are considering sending your child to FR Charter School, don't think twice. Many students come from overcrowded schools in Chico and find a nurturing environment, high-quality education, and once more, the school bus from Chico is FREE. If that's not enough, the school offers on-campus, an after school care program that has made it possible for many parents who work in other parts of the county, to enroll their kids locally. It has definitely filled a void for families who prefer to have their kids attend a smaller school with smaller class-sizes.
When the county school district closed what was then the only elementary school in Forest Ranch, parents quickly rallied and jumped through all of the red tape to make sure that the school, which became known as "Forest Ranch Charter School", would be able to open its doors, on time, the following August. This was NO small feat!
Since then the school has thrived and is a vital part of our community.
As time has progressed, and the school has grown from just renting part of the original school, to adding middle school to 7th and 8th graders, with hopes of turning the added modular buildings, into more permanent structures.
We wish them luck with their ambitious endeavors and donate to their ongoing fundraising whenever we can.
