Hm ... of course you get in this store a lot of Asian stuff.
But ... nowadays - so my experience - a shopping tour should be something special.
The "shopping war" goes on ... a lot of stores, everywhere the same things to get and mostly people don't have in mind to visit a store only because the cheap price.
There is more a store has to offer ... and it is about the feel good mood of their costumers.
This Asian store is dirty ... not to say filthy. Not all their stuff is signed in English language. I don't want and I don't have the time to learn the Chinese language.
And I am used to have attention by the check out employee. A "no sight" check out works ... but it is anything than a welcomed feeling.
These guys have a lot to do to pimp their store ... sad but true.

Asian Food Center is one of the oldest Chinese markets in Sacramento. I think almost no Chinese in sacrament have never shopped here for their wide range of Chinese groceries.

The store is big, not like supermarket size. But big enough to carry most of the items for the Chinese kitchen.

The meats and vegetables here are fresh. I love their Chinese BBQ. The roasted duck, roasted pork, and BBQ pork are my favorites.

The cashiers are fast and accurate. I hardly found any errors on my bills. But the store is cash only. No credit card! This is a little inconvenient!

Pretty decent selection. I bought bouncy pork and beef soup balls. They sell Lao gan ma brand chile oil. I have yet to find (ใบ)กะเพรา holy basil in any Asian market. They only have regular โหระพา Thai basil.

Back in the day I would get roast duck over rice with a drink for under 5 bucks. Now, the roast duck over rice will cost you 11 and change - not as much duck, cabbage instead of bok choy, even the sauce they give isn't quite the same and, of course, no drink. Thanks, Joe Biden. Maybe it's better, roast duck is a rarity for me these days, my doc wouldn't approve.

Excellent prices on fresh meat and seafood. The best baked BBQ Pork Baos in Sacramento. Communication is pretty easy when it comes to food, even with little English being spoken. The staff is old school and quiet so many people mistake this for being rude or conceited but it's really not. The folks there are respectful and kind. If you need help it will come! I've never felt unwelcome or uncomfortable here!

They carry live fish and crustaceans, the pork butt is gorgeous. I made char siu with it and it was better than all the others I've tasted in Sacramento. They have hot foods at nice prices. You can find cookware, frozen Asian convenience foods/snacks like Siu Mai, dumplings, and Baos.

There are sauces/spices/marinades of all kinds, most of which are not carried by major grocers or even advertised and unless you're familiar with Asian foods, you'd be suprised to see them.
They have a small but power packed produce section with real pricing. Fancy stores can sell exotic Asian pears for 4.99 a pound while AFC prices them around 1.99 a pound. The produce always looks fresh and shows that they move what they bring in.

Try the store out and you'll find something life changing!

I went here by bus because I wanted to watch my emissions and was glad to see an asian market close to my downtown apartment. Looks like they have a good variety of asian food, specifically Chinese, though I saw some of my Filipino basics.

I tried to get shaoxing wine with my ebt card, which is acceptable at other places, but the cashier said that I couldn’t buy it with my card. She almost even asked me for ID. For shaoxing wine! No one is tweaking on that stuff, I just wanted to make a chicken shiitake soup and forgot that I ran out of it.

I didn’t have enough cash to pay for it, so she said I could pay for it by card, but it would be like a $.50 surcharge or something. And this was for an item that should be covered by ebt in the first place. Sorry to the earth, but I left and drove to Shun Fat Supermarket to get my cooking wine out of principle.

After the new store ownership, the roasted ducks became very juicy and good, the vegetable quality Was good without price increase. There were more items, frozen food available. Only one down side was cash only.
