The Oak Park Farmers Market is a brand new small market located at McClatchy Park on Saturdays from 9am-1pm. There are only a few vendors right now but all of them are great! There was fresh and dried flower bouquets, locally grown strawberries and veggies, homemade teas and pound cakes, aqua frescas, beautiful plants and a handful of family owned restaurant tents.

I bought some lemon drop tea from Tea Amo, it smells and tastes delicious!! I also got 3 beautiful new plants from the Plant Demon, that guy knows SO much about every single plant I was super impressed. My mom and I enjoyed our lunch at Meza, an Arab and Mexican combination restaurant where we had a vegetarian quesadilla and a chicken wrap with garlic sauce, they were both insanely good. As well as their mint and orange blossom lemonade and tahini chocolate chip cookie that happens to be vegan! The cookie was so good that I bought two more for later. I recommend stopping by this small farmers market even for a few minutes if you're in the area, you are highly likely to see something you will want to buy and supporting small local businesses is one of the best things you can do on a Saturday 💖

First day open and lots of food vendors and people out to enjoy the day. Not too many produce vendors, and they were mostly sold out within the first hour and a half. Hopefully, more produce vendors will show up. Also, there needs to be more seating. Lots of people are getting their food, then standing in groups talking and eating in the walk ways making it difficult for others to walk around them. But still an enjoyable day.

I hate, hate leaving a poor review of a farmer’s market, but I want to leave honest feedback. There are very few vendors at this market and the ones there are way overpriced. Last weekend I was buying nectarines and Peaches at Denio’s Farmers market for $1.50 lb. They were charging $4.00 at Oak Park. I could justify paying $2.00 or $2.50 but $4 is just too much. Farmers markets are great because there are no middlemen and very little overhead. In theory they should enable good prices for customers at fair profits for vendors but alas this is not the case and whoever runs this market needs to address and correct this.

Great little market with nice variety! Better than bigger markets I've been at as everyone here is very friendly and sociable. I find something new to enjoy each time I go. Of course, like any Farmers Market, they take EBT/Food stamps.

Just a sample of offerings: local grown fruits veggies, fresh flowers, honey, teas, candles, kombucha on tap, breads, cheeses and yogurts, steamed buns (bao), fresh hummus and more. Great for little kids too, who can enjoy the park after. Local food trucks are there each week as well.

I happened upon this Farmer's Market in the park today.

There are 2 designated entrances & exit.
Before entering you are politely asked to wash your hands at a very clean hand portable washing station.
Masks & distancing required.
X's on the ground helped to know how far to stand while in the market area.

It isn't a large Farmer's Market , however it does have a good variety of items available.

Fresh corn is 5 for $1
I got a watermelon for $7

Been there, done that, live it, will come back. Not only do they have great produce, they also have LOCAL PRODUCE and at least one Black owned farm providing produce.
I'm so happy to see Purple Pig Eats back in action. Oak Park Market also utilized EBT so all are able to buy fresh, wholesome, and local food in their neighborhood.

I loved the farmers and the produce they brought. It was so fresh, it was better than anything you can buy at the grocery store. My sis and I made Friday😊. People were so friendly I didnt realize I was in urban central.im a visitor from Canada. If I could in would go here every week to buy produce. Just happened to be here accidentally. Was thinking that Bernie Sanders was going to here at that time. But it was a info session from one of his support camps. Cheers!!!! Loved it!!!!
