UPDATE: Its mostly open now and its amazing. So many families and kids playing around. The shops are beautiful and restaurants and bars are very nice. Just a beautiful place to hang out anytime during the week. The only small negative is parking once again was not considered like many places in OC and theres not enough spaces for people to just drive in and enjoy. Cars are circling around waiting to get a place to park, that is frustrating. However get here early and you wont have an issue. Photos added.

Original: I cant wait for this place to open!!! They did a modern barn retail design. It has large glass windows and a very sleek look. Its going to be a mixed-use area where people can hangout, shop, enjoy, chill and kids can play. Its long overdue and we are happy its coming to fruition. The San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point and San Clemente communities dont have much stuff to do other than the beach (which is of course nice!) but people would love to enjoy multiple types of outdoor enjoyment and activities so we are thankful to the city and all the builders that made this happen! 😀 🙏🙌

New and exciting, but crowded. Expect long lines and wait times for most restaurants. I can only imagine that parking in general would be challenging to find during peak hours.

There’s a lot to like about the new River Street marketplace - the old Spanish American farm design being the biggest plus. Plus the outdoor communal spaces are nicely done. But be prepared for terrible Parking, overcrowded, restaurants that seem a lot more commercial than unique, and stores that, while unique, don’t seem like places I’d be interested in going into more than once. I was excited about the marketplace opening, but I doubt I’ll be going there very often. And with Los Rios St. right next-door, that area is a lot more interesting.

RESIDENT OF SAN JUAN! I just checked out River Ranch Marketplace tonight and it is completely awesome! Parking was busy since EVERYONE was talking about the grand opening, but the BEST PART is that they have valet! Being able to drop my car and hit my reservation on time, was easy and seamless. I am so happy this service is available! The grounds are beautiful and San Juan is officially elevated UP!!!!!! This is officially the best place place to be in the South OC!!!

I was concerned about the valet option for the River Street Market Place in San Juan Capistrano, but my experience was really great. Miles was very professional and took great care of my car and made everything easy for my family. Parking was a great optional luxury that I usually don’t indulge in. Thank you SJC city, this was fun!

A Stint Abroad

We came here Thursday afternoon to check it out. I love what they’ve done to this space. They have a mini food-hall with various food like empanadas, bobas and more. There’s also clothing stores, a grocery store, a few restaurants including Mendocino Farms. We didn’t have issues with parking. Worth checking out!

its a great cozy place, plenty of FREE parking (for now) so don't listen to the disgruntled Karens who didn't want to walk a little and rated the place low because of their own mistakes. its still a new place but looks like its gonna become a great hangout spot.

Visited for the first time and I am deeply disappointed with the lack of accommodation for mothers with kids and babies. No nursing space for mothers and the changing tables are in plain view of the door of the restroom with no privacy. I usually opt for the changing table inside the handicap stall, but you won’t find that here! Hard to believe that this new build didn’t think to accommodate mothers with babies. 🙁
