Great experience staying in one of the lodging rooms. Quiet location 3 miles upstream of Downieville on the Yuba River. Much better price than anything in Downieville. Will be returning this coming weekend.

After many years of visiting/vacationing in Downieville, we decided to stay here instead of "in town". |It's a great "base camp" for outdoor activities (hiking/mountain bicycling/fishing/gold panning/prospecting)||Serene spot on the N. Yuba river, 3 miles (upstream) from Downieville (CA). ||Advisory: |* no food available on site.|* keep very close eye on children; ESPECIALLY near river!!!|*always be alert for bears & don't leave ANY food in vehicles!

This place is beyond beautiful! We stayed in the Bridge House which is a great, quirky (in a good way) house big enough for a group of friends or family. The river literally runs right under the house and the views are gorgeous. All the other cabins are also right on the river. ||The surrounding area is full of trees, mountains, lakes and rivers. A beautiful area. ||Take the bear warnings seriously and be mindful of their presence.

My sister and her family have been going to Shangrila for over 25 years. We live out of state so hadn’t gone but made it part of our travel plans in late May. What a special place… away from the hustle and bustle of every day noises, all we heard was the rush of the Yuba River. The rooms are old but beds comfy and very clean. You come to a place like this for total relaxation… we were not disappointed. Lovely from start to finish.

The Shangri-La setting is absolutely beautiful and magical. The natural and peaceful setting is something you need to experience. It is amazing to watch and hear the river from your room. The grounds are dotted with beautiful potted plants and colorful decor. Michelle is a friendly and gracious host and provides all sorts of fun additional activities on the premises - games, books, art projects.

This is a beautiful property just outside of Downieville right on the river. It was so peaceful to sleep with the slider open and listen to the river at night. It is more turbulent here than in town, so it's a bit louder, which we loved. The property has a nice lawn to hang out on. It was only about a 5 minute drive into town, and was nicer than the Inn I stayed at in town last time.

We visited the resort with our friends for birthday celebration. It was a great choice - location wise, the cabin was big enough for all, kitchen had everything we needed; and the beautiful Yuba river and surroundings. The hosts were very helpful. We will definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our weekend here. We were in a B&B room which had an amazing views of the river. The river sounds all night were relaxing. Room was small, clean, and offered a refrigerator, microwave and a Keurig Coffee pot. We look forward to going back and staying in a cabin next time.
