I am in the middle of buying a home and moving. I have worked with several utility and moving companies in this area over the past month. All of them have been so helpful and friendly.

However, this company shut my water off after 4:30pm on a Friday and just after I had finished closing on my home and ready to move in with my young son. This company has by far provided the worst customer service that I can remember. I understand if there is a problem transferring water into my name. However, it is the lack of “I’m sorry, and I will try to help” from the get-go.

I was greeted over the phone with disregard after having no water all weekend at the new home. Please offer a grace period for new home buyers over the weekend at least. Fayetteville Water was much more responsive with helping me out in my old home, thank goodness.

Washington Water Authority provides condescending customer service to say the least, as another reviewer put it. Not one smile when a customer walks in the door. Customer service also starts with first saying, “I’m sorry, and how can I help?”, or at least, “ I’m sorry, I wish I could help, but my hands are tied.” Not one ounce of empathy. This has been the most upsetting part of this move.

Added edit: They also own a very rundown/dilapidated building for a supposed established utility office. I was shocked when I drove up to that building and dealt with some of the most rude people that I have met in quite some time.

I accidentally paid them twice this month and since just water costs over $100.00 a month I naturally asked how I get my money back? Answer : You don’t … me: What if I need that money? Answer: Even if you need that money you don’t get it back. It’s applied to next month’s bill. … I have never had such glaringly bad experiences with a ultility company in my life. I would seriously recommend you think twice before purchasing a home here.

I have had several rentals in their service area for years.
Every time I speak with them they are very condescending. Not friendly whatsoever, they barely crack a smile when I go into the office. This has gone on for years. All of them could use ongoing PR training.

So, I got a motion alert today and saw someone from Washington Water Authority hanging something on my door. I knew it meant we had a leak. We’ve had one before. My husband called and they told him our bill was around $2400. He went to find the leak and saw they found the leak last Thursday! We didn’t find out about it until today!! He called to rip them and instead of apologizing or offering a solution Josh treated him very unprofessionally. Honestly, my husband probably earned it because he is fed up with how they run their business. How on earth in 2022 does a company not have a way to monitor this? When they find a leak why do they not notify you? And, why do they stick a note on your door instead of calling? What if you’re out of town!? I’ve heard so many stories like this from other Washington Water customers. This is the only company we can get water from and they have the worst customer service. They don’t treat their customers right and we pay $100+ a month. I think it may be time to dig a well!

We have build houses in the county and people at the Washington Water have always been very helpful guiding us through the process . Zack has always been attentive and responsive to all our questions.
The costumer service is great . The ladies at the front desk are polite and helpful.
They gave me a courtesy call to remind me my payment was due when I was out of the country. Which I appreciated greatly.

This place is not customer friendly. They pretend to replace something on your meter then wait 2-3 months later and bill you over $300 for that said item. They don’t bother contacting with any information before but are quick to send you a shutoff notice within a couple weeks of receiving the billing. It is awful and I have been forced to be a customer for more than 40 years because this is where my family home is located. They are a joke. Don’t bother calling the head guy he will just hang up on you. Great customer service right?

We reported a water leak in their main line close to our water meter and they promptly came out and repaired the leak. The workman that came out to inspect the leak was very professional and cordial. He thanked me for reporting the leak and it was repaired within 48 hours of the office issuing a work order.
The receive your bill via email or pay your bill online is a different story altogether. The website and pay your bill feature is a spiderwebbed cobbled together mess that I haven't been able to solve since November of 2021. I have one account that tracks my water useage and issues water leak alerts via email that works perfectly.
The pay your bill online and receive your bill via email does NOT WORK AT ALL. After numerous calls and visiting the office on more than one occasion in the past 6 months the ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED! The latest attempt via instructions from office personnel told me to go to the website and register for the feature. I registered and the registration system stated "An email has been sent to your email inbox, follow the instructions to complete your registration." THAT WAS 4 DAYS AGO AND I HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE EMAIL YET. I looked in my promotions and spam files as well - nothing.
I emailed the office for help a few days ago and have haven't received a reply.
I have numerous online accounts and haven't had unresolved issues such as this, which causes my to believe the problem is with the customer relations and website design of Washington Water Authority.
Other than this well described issue we are very happy with our service.

Not reliable can’t do anything in a timely manner and have little respect or courtesy to their customers and/or family’s. I had to pay a major deposit and after I disconnected service I was told it be up to 3 weeks max for my deposit return it’s been close to two months and I had to call them just to have them send it they hadn’t even made out my deposit check very unprofessional and short of turning the on/off switch from their comfy chairs won’t do anything to help if their is a water problem or even inform us our water line ran thru the neighbors line no help and completely useless on this alone will not buy a home or rent in their area of operation
