Terrible experience. Rude security from the get go. Just a PSA in advance to truck drivers, if you have your spouse with you as a rider (which most all transportation companies allow, this is very common) they will not let them in if they do not have their cdl even if you are just the rider and remain inside the truck at all times. They will make them wait outside the yard! When we mentioned to them our company has a rider policy in which a girlfriend or spouse is able to ride in the truck with them they acted as if we were stupid… also we had our dog with us which our company also allows to have a pet they asked if it was a service animal and we said no and the man replied “well she better be one today” in a very rude tone. Clearly they don’t know a thing about trucking or company policies. let’s just say they are very unprofessional & rude to say the least.

One star, the lowest option, for not admitting that they knew that they are contributing to global climate change. There seems to be a lack of civic responsibility and an abundance of government protection as they make record profits and buy back their own shares.

There is a contrast of reviews here. All 5 stars and all 1 stars, little to no in between. I understand some people (5 star reviewers) are happy working here and they probably pay and treat employees well. Though we need to remind ourselves this is a bad en-devour (1 star reviewers). This refinery is a major health risk to all of Richmond and surrounding areas.

The "residents disproportionately suffer from irregular high rates of cancer, asthma, and other pulmonary diseases". The refinery passes the limits for the "EPA's air compliance standards, releasing dangerous levels of air pollution into Richmond’s communities every day".

"The Richmond refinery had been in “high priority violation” of Clean Air Act compliance standards, the most severe level of violation possible from the EPA. Chevron has been assessed hundreds of thousands of dollars in penalties for multiple Clean Air Act violations with almost 100 citations in the five year period between 2007 and 2012 alone. From 2006 to 2009 the refinery failed to comply with the Clean Water Act and the National Pollutant Discharge System in every quarter but one."

Unfortunately things are about to get much much worse. The refinery is considering producing tar-sand which is insanely more toxic than crude oil.

No job is worth sacrificing human lives. Unfortunately it is going to take a lot of citizen power to fight against this. Reading these reviews, it appears we are sadly headed in the opposite direction. The bottom-line is no refinery should be near residences if the outcome is poor health/ death. Remove the residences or remove the refinery. There is no other way.

Look at their refinery cost and profit in the recent years, which has grown significantly and aligns with Chevron's company profit, while our gas prices have gone up. Their refining cost takes more than 1/3 of the gas prices consumers pay. And google their worker strikes! Greedy corporation!

Polluting the air I breath and masivly ugly and let homeless live all around the property the air quality monitoring system is down or does not report to the web and the web page is always down too.
